1Prayz was founded in August of 2002. It all started when God gave Juan & Sonya Sessoms a vision to have a Joy Night in State College, PA. Sonya handpicked each member of 1Prayz and Juan and Rob, the owners of Drum.Key Productions, selected the musicians. The three of them, along with the musicians and members of the group, thought this would be a one-time thing in the Lord with a possibility of repeating it annually. Unbeknown to them all, the Lord had another agenda! 1Prayz began to receive different engagement invitations all over the states! They were even blessed to go on their first tour within their first year of inception. 

Sonya gave the group its name and their foundational Bible verse is: 

It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the Lord, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the Lord
2 Chronicles 5:13 (KJV) 

Now 18 years later, 1Prayz Ministries has created pockets of members in State College, PA, Philadelphia, PA, and now makes Killeen, TX its home. Pastors Juan & Sonya Sessoms are blessed to oversee and be members of a ministry that’s filled with talented singers and musicians who love the Lord. 

With an EP forthcoming, 1Prayz Ministries has but one mission:  

To touch the hearts and souls of those saved and unsaved, young and old alike. 1Prayz desires to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world and tell of his goodness. If only one person’s life is changed, we’ve done what the Lord has called us to do.
